PédaGoJeux: Informing and raising awareness of video games and digital issues

To help parents better understand video games and digital tools, the PédaGoJeux collective is here to help.

Launched in 2008 by SELL (Syndicat des Editeurs de Logiciels de Loisirs), UNAF (Union Nationale des Associations Familiales), the French Ministry for Families, Internet sans Crainte and Jeux Online, and joined in 2017 by the Association nationale pour l'amélioration de la Vue (AsnaV) and Action Innocence Monaco, the PédaGoJeux collective provides a wide range of information and raises awareness of the issues surrounding video games and digital technology.

For several years now, PédaGoJeux has been an active participant in Paris Games Week. For five days, families, educators and local authorities will be able to meet members of the collective to discuss issues relating to video games and digital technology. Choosing the right video game for your child's age, controlling the amount of time spent in front of the screen, playing as a family and finding out about the PEGI descriptors are just some of the topics that will be discussed in a totally objective manner. PédaGoJeux offers a listening ear and concrete advice, so that families and their children can enjoy video games and avoid all forms of excess.

PédaGoJeux : putting an end to misconceptions

PédaGoJeux and AsnaV are offering an information point on screens and eyesight. You can even have your eyesight tested. Is the notorious 'myopia epidemic' a direct result of time spent on screens? All you have to do is come and meet the AsnaV specialists to find out and, who knows, put an end to your preconceived ideas. Numerous other activities will be on offer throughout the show, including fun workshops organised by UNAF. Parents and children can test their knowledge of video games in friendly duels!

PédaGoJeux: action all year round

PédaGoJeux benefits from a network of ambassadors who inform and raise awareness among families throughout the year and across the whole of France. These public players (schools, local authorities, cyber-bases/EPN, etc.) or associations (family associations, parents, etc.) relay PédaGoJeux's messages and positions. These messages can of course be found on the PédaGoJeux website (www.pedagojeux.fr). There you'll also find fact sheets on the various problems associated with video games, full reports and testimonials from gamers and parents, as well as a handy glossary to help you understand the terms used by gamers.
